Background

Sharon Takara is a local piano teacher graduating from the University of Hawaii and teaching 

in the Aiea community for over 40 years. Formerly  a National Guild Member and member of 

the Honolulu Piano Teachers Association.

She has also taught music fundamental classes to pre-K children, attended Suzuki workshops 

with past accreditation, as well as a most enjoyable Dorothy Taubman workshop held at the 

Julliard School in New York City with Maria Del Pico Taylor.

Sharon also has a great love for art having had an early exposure from her own artist dad.

 Many of his paintings adorn her studio walls. 

She  loves opera and has volunteered for  Hawaii Opera Theatre sometimes even being part of an opera as a supernumerary.
